Peacemaker Resources builds safe and healthy communities based on respectful communication, empathy, and effective conflict resolution.
Striving for these outcomes:
Healthy Youth
Children will have good conflict
management skills, problem-solving abilities, communication skills,
empathy, self-awareness, self-control and awareness of external
influences.
Positive School Climate
Schools will offer
caring and support, a sense of "community" in the classroom, clear
standards for appropriate behavior, non-coercive approaches and student
involvement in school tasks and decisions.
Nurturing Families
Family members will feel
positively connected with one another in a warm and caring atmosphere
where non-coercive approaches are used in place of severe criticism,
shaming and blaming.
Positive Workplace
The workplace will
utilize effective systems of communication and conflict management that
promote employees feeling safe, trusted, valued, supported and
productive.
Cooperative Life Skills
Skill-building classes and activities that promote self-awareness, empathy, self-management, cooperation, communication, conflict management and problem solving.
STAR Program
STAR (Students Teaching Attitudes of Respect) is a program of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation offered to schools and organizations within the foundation's 12-county region. This experiential retreat is at its best for 6th & 7th graders and gets good reviews from students, advisors and advocates alike.
Adult Programs
Customized training and consultation to help groups identify and practice tools of positive communication, problem-solving, diversity and team-building.
