![]() Barb Houg has been awarded a scholarship that will cover travel, lodging, and the full cost of registration to participate in the Independent Sector National Conference "New Frontiers" which will be held in Washington D.C. November 16-18. The Bush Foundation awarded 50 scholarships to nonprofit and foundation leaders from across the country. The Independent Sector Conference is the meeting ground for leaders and change-makers looking to drive momentum for the charitable community, set the sector’s agenda for the coming year, and collaborate on strategies for success. Independent Sector is the only national membership organization that brings together nonprofits, foundations, and corporations to advance the common good. According to Dan Cardinali, President and CEO of Independent Sector, "...the best aspect of the conference has remained consistent: its ability to bring together an incredibly diverse cross-section of brilliant and dedicated charitable community leaders who might not otherwise have the chance to meet each other."
