Peacemaker Resources follows the Carver Model of Board Governance and has Governing Policies in place that include the Board Job Description, Chair’s Role, and Board Members’ Code of Conduct. Orientation and training is provided to new directors to make sure they are comfortable and knowledgeable in their role; previous board experience is an asset but not required. This is a two year term. A board member can serve a maximum of up to six consecutive terms. The following is a list of responsibilities and qualifications that align with the expectations for an individual board member in service to the organization and to the Executive Director. Board Composition and Terms: The Peacemakers Board of Directors shall consist of not less than five (5) and not more than nine (9), subject to the authority of the Board of Directors to increase the number of directors as permitted by law. Directors shall be elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. Each member of the board shall be elected to two-year terms, but are eligible for re-election for up to six consecutive terms. To carry out these responsibilities, the Board generally meets every other month throughout the year. In addition to attendance at Board meetings, you may be required to participate on committees.
